It's estimated that one in three people experience difficulties with sleep. Sleep deprivation, commonly known as insomnia, affects those who either struggle to fall asleep or find themselves waking up during the night and unable to return to sleep. People with insomnia often spend a great deal of time worrying about their sleep—or the lack of it—which can further exacerbate the problem.

A lack of restful sleep makes it challenging to function normally, both physically and mentally.

Insufficient sleep slows your reactions, making everyday tasks feel more exhausting. You may find it hard to think clearly, feel more emotional than usual, and struggle to manage stress. This lack of restorative sleep confuses your body, creating a vicious cycle where increased stress further disrupts sleep, trapping you in a negative pattern.

Whatever your sleep issues may be, understanding your sleep patterns is crucial as sleep impacts every aspect of life. My goal is to help restore quality sleep by enhancing your ability to relax both your body and mind. Enjoying activities during the day can also help your mind to "switch off" more easily at night, making it easier to fall asleep.

Improving how we feel about ourselves can reduce worry and anxiety, allowing the brain to make the most of restorative sleep. My treatment approach is tailored to your specific needs and may include:

Tracking and recording the actual time you spend asleep to better understand your sleep patterns
Learning fast and effective relaxation techniques to reduce stress and anxiety. Using hypnosis for insomnia and practising self-hypnosis to increase relaxation and build confidence in your ability to sleep Identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs about sleep that may be contributing to your insomnia.

Replacing these unhelpful beliefs with more positive, constructive ones through hypnosis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Reviewing and adjusting your bedtime routine to promote better sleep habits
Using hypnosis techniques to encourage easier, deeper sleep
Breaking the association between insomnia and going to bed by creating new, positive sleep associations.
